Fuse Problem: Error Code 2400
Environment
This article applies to code 2400, Fuse problem, for Generac air-cooled home standby generators.
- Note: The term "error code" is used interchangeably with 'alarm code,' 'fault code,' 'fault alarm' and similar terminology. Error code applies to all such terminology.
Overview
Error code: 2400
Fault: Fuse Problem
Issue: The 7.5 amp controller fuse is missing or blown.
Potential Causes: Improperly placed or blown fuse, or a problem with the generator battery or battery cables
Resolution
The fuse is located on the generator control panel (A), underneath a rubber flap (B).

Check to confirm if the fuse is properly in place and inspect if it has been blown.

- If the fuse is blown, it will need to be replaced. Replacement 7.5-amp fuses can be found at most hardware and auto parts stores.
- If the fuse has been verified to be in good condition, check to confirm if the fuse is pushed all the way in and is properly in place.

- If this error code persists after replacing the fuse and the battery, a service visit from a local dealer may be required so that a trained professional can test the starter circuit for continuity to uncover why the fuse is consistently blowing.
