What is an In-Home Consultation (IHC)?

An In-Home Consultation (IHC) is a free, no-obligation visit from a Generac authorized dealer to evaluate your home’s backup power needs and provide a custom generator quote. This ensures your home is properly sized for a generator and also qualifies you for the Power Play promotional warranty, if all requirements are met.


How do I sign up for an In-Home Consultation (IHC)?

To sign up, do one of the following:


How does the Power Play promotion work?

1. The interested customer contacts Generac and requests an In-Home Consultation.
2. The In-Home Consultation is scheduled.
3. The Generac Power Play dealer comes to the customer's home, assesses their home backup electrical needs, and provides a free, no-obligation quote.
4. The customer follows through with the purchase, and the generator is installed.
5. The customer receives a promotional code from the installing Generac Power Play dealer.

Note: In order to qualify for the promotional warranty, the in-home consultation and purchase must be done through the same qualifying dealer and all terms and conditions must be met. See the full terms and conditions for more detail.

6. Within 60 days, the customer submits the promotional code and proof of purchase for an upgraded warranty. Visit Generac.com and click Redeem.
7. The customer receives a confirmation email, and the warranty is applied to the generator serial number within 5-7 business days.

Note: It can take up to two weeks for the warranty to show in Mobile Link, as warranty status is updated once weekly.

Does the Power Play warranty cover the Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS)?

Yes — the Automatic Transfer Switch purchased with the generator as part of the In-Home Consultation qualifies for the upgraded warranty as well.
