Generac Load Manager warranty
Generac Load Managers purchased and/or installed after 1/1/2024 will be backed by the new 3-year warranty. Any Generac Load Manager product (regardless of generation) installed/purchased prior to 1/1/2024 will receive the previous 1-year warranty.
Note: The Generac Load Manager was formerly known as a Smart Management Module (SMM).
Warranty Guidelines
Proof of initial purchase date or date of installation must be made available.
All transportation costs under the warranty, including return to the factory, are to be borne and prepaid by the purchaser/owner.
This warranty applies only to accessories utilized in “Consumer Applications.”
Any and all warranty repairs and/or concerns addressed by an Independent Authorized Service Dealer (IASD), or branch thereof. Repairs or diagnostics performed by individuals other than an IASD not authorized in writing by Generac will not be covered.
Any replacement accessory will be based on the original installation date carry the remainder of the defective accessories three (3) year warranty or 90 days; whichever provides the greatest coverage.
“Consumer Application” means personal residential household/light commercial use by a retail consumer. No other use is warranted.
Travel allowances are limited to 100 miles maximum and three (3) hours maximum (per occurrence) round trip.
Warranty does not cover:
Costs of normal maintenance.
Normal wear and tear, damage/failures caused by incorrect installation, incorrect repair, incorrect repair or diagnosis, misuse, abuse, misapplication, negligence, or misapplication.
Damage to the accessory by accidents, shipping, handling, or incorrect storage.
Any changes due to hardware upgrades or network obsolescence.
Failure caused by incorrectly sizing of loads to contact ratings.
Any communication expenses, including but not limited to: telephone, cellular phone, facsimile, or Internet.
Overnight freight or special shipping costs for replacement part(s).
Any adjustments or expenses related to “customer instruction” or troubleshooting where no manufacturing defect is found.
An accessory that is modified or altered in a manner not authorized by Generac in writing.
Any incidental, consequential, or indirect damages caused by defects in materials or workmanship, or any delay in repair or replacement of the defective part(s).
Failures caused by any act of God or external cause including without limitation, fire, theft, freezing, war, lightning, earthquake, windstorm, hail, water, tornado, hurricane, or any other matters which are reasonably beyond the manufacturer’s control.
Note: While your warranty cannot cover these items, some of these can be covered under your homeowner’s insurance policy. Be sure to inform your insurance provider when you purchase a Generac Load Manager so that it can be included in the policy.
