Finding a transfer switch serial number

Note: Generac support does NOT recommend end users attempt to open and access the interior of a transfer switch. Transfer switches contain live wiring and are dangerous to untrained service professionals. Generac independent authorized service dealers are trained to service Generac generators and transfer switches and can be contacted using the dealer locator tool on Generac.com.

The serial number (sometimes listed as "issue number") of your Generac Transfer Switch is usually printed on a data label that can be found inside the switch, either on the top of the back panel or on the upper or lower sections of the inside-left panel. 

Note: On Service Entrance Rated switches, the inner panel will need to be removed to access the serial number data label. 

Note: For manual transfer switches, the serial number will be printed on the back wall of the enclosure.
