Wi-Fi LP Tank Monitor Support Ending in Mobile Link
Environment
Wi-Fi LP Tank Monitor: This article applies to customers using Mobile Link with a Wi-Fi LP (Liquid Propane) Tank Monitor. This does not apply to the Cellular versions of the LP Tank Monitor.
Overview
Effective July 31, 2025, Mobile Link no longer supports Wi-Fi-connected LP tank monitors. Tank level data from Wi-Fi monitors no longer appears in the Mobile Link app or web dashboard. To continue remote monitoring of your propane tank, you will need to upgrade to a cellular-connected tank monitor.
Why is support for Wi-Fi monitors ending?
Generac is shifting to a cellular-first standard for tank monitoring to align with the direction of most customers and ensure the most reliable, uninterrupted experience across all environments. While Wi-Fi monitoring has worked for many users, customer feedback has overwhelmingly favored cellular connectivity due to its:
- Greater reliability across varying home network conditions
- Elimination of dependence on homeowner routers or local internet issues
- Easier setup and fewer support issues
As part of this transition, Mobile Link will no longer support backend services required for Wi-Fi monitor integration.
What will happen to my existing monitor?
Your current Wi-Fi tank monitor hardware will not be removed or disabled, but Mobile Link no longer displays propane level data from it starting July 31, 2025. The monitor also no longer sends fuel level alerts, refill reminders, or monitoring history through Mobile Link.
Tank Utility Wi-Fi monitors will not function in any other app or platform after this date.
