Can I take out the generator's main breaker and replace it with a larger breaker?

The breaker that is pre-installed on a generator is sized for the unit's output capabilities. Replacing a breaker with a larger breaker will not yield any more output of the unit, and would allow the unit to be easily overloaded. This modification would also void the unit's warranty.

Can I take out the generator's main breaker and replace it with a larger breaker?

The Main Line Circuit Breaker is carefully matched to the generator’s output. Replacing it with a larger breaker is dangerous and can cause electrical damage, fire, or injury. It will not increase the generator’s output and will compromise the warranty.
