How to Adjust the Charger’s Power Limit?

To ensure your charger doesn’t overload the circuit when sharing a high-voltage line with other appliances, adjusting its Power limit (also known as charging amperage) is crucial. This guide will walk you through customizing this setting using the Generac EV Charging app, while staying within the electrical installation limits.

Always ensure you remain within your charger’s maximum power capacity. If your installer has configured a lower amperage using the physical current selection switch, you cannot exceed that amperage setting.

Adjusting Power Limit Using the Generac EV Charging app


1. Log in to the Generac EV Charging app.
2. Choose your specific charger from the app.
4. Establish Connectivity: Ensure the app and your charger are connected via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.
5. Access Power Limit: On the charging screen, go to the Power Limit tab.
6. Adjust the Setting: Use the slider to set your desired power limit.
