Why does Mobile Link say my dealer-managed subscription expired?

Service dealers can enroll generator owners into a monitoring system called FLEET. If the dealer-managed subscription has expired, Mobile Link may display a message that the subscription expired and that you should contact your dealer.

Environment

This article applies to generator owners with a Mobile Link account where the generator is enrolled in a dealer's FLEET monitoring program.

Resolution

If you want to continue using a dealer-managed FLEET subscription

Contact your dealer to renew the subscription. Once renewed, changes are typically reflected in the Mobile Link app or website quickly.

If you want to take control of your own Mobile Link account (remove the generator from the dealer’s FLEET program)

To remove a generator from a dealer-managed FLEET program, contact your dealer first. The dealer must remove the generator from their FLEET account before the generator can be managed directly by the owner.

I'm on a dealer-managed subscription, but want to remove my preferred dealer in Mobile Link

If you are on a dealer-managed subscription, the dealer must first remove the generator from their account before the option to remove a preferred dealer becomes available. This ends the dealer-managed subscription. See: How Do I Remove A Preferred Dealer?

Note: Generac cannot offer credits or refunds for subscriptions. If the generator is removed from a dealer-managed subscription, paid Mobile Link features will end and you may need to re-subscribe to restore paid features.
