What Is an Amp?

An amp is a unit of measurement used to measure the flow of electrical current in a circuit. It is similar to how we measure the flow of water through a pipe, except that amps measure the flow of electricity. An amp measures how many electrons are flowing through a wire or circuit per second, and it is used to determine the amount of power being used or delivered by an electrical device.
