What are the decibel noise ratings for my generator?

While sound levels will vary depending on physical location, acoustics, and surrounding objects, we can provide approximate estimations for our air-cooled home standby generators. Bear in mind there is no standardized way to measure the exact sound output of your generator, because it depends on the environment in which it is installed.

Home standby sound levels

Always reference your generator's spec sheet for the most accurate information. Information in this article is not guaranteed to be up to date. The chart below provides the dB(A) rating measured from 23 feet (7m) away with the generator operating at normal load.The higher the number, the louder the sound.

Noise rating details

• Sound levels are taken from the front of the generator. Sound levels taken from other sides of the generator may be higher depending on installation parameters.
