Why can't I log in to the Mobile Link app on a Samsung Z Fold phone?

If you are unable to log in to the Mobile Link app on a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold phone, the issue may be related to the device's dual-screen (foldable) display mode. Mobile Link is not currently compatible with the dual-screen interface used when the phone is unfolded.

Issue or Question

The Mobile Link app does not allow you to log in, or the login screen does not function correctly when using a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold phone in the unfolded dual-screen mode.

Cause

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold devices use a foldable dual-screen design that changes how apps are displayed when the phone is opened. Mobile Link does not currently support this expanded display mode, which may prevent the login process from working correctly. In some cases, buttons may appear on the screen but cannot be selected or interacted with.

Procedure

To log in to the Mobile Link app:

1. Fold the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold so it is using the exterior single screen.
2. Open the Mobile Link app.
3. Enter your Mobile Link account credentials.
4. Complete the login process while the phone remains in single-screen mode.
Note: Mobile Link is currently not compatible with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold dual-screen interface. If you experience login issues while the phone is unfolded, switch to the standard single-screen mode before attempting to sign in.

Resolution

After switching the phone to the standard single-screen mode, most users are able to successfully log in to the Mobile Link app. If the issue continues after using the single screen, contact Generac Customer Support for additional assistance.
