Why do Mobile Link charges appear as GPS or GPS-remote monitoring?

Customers may notice Mobile Link subscription charges listed on a credit card or bank statement as “GPS” or “GPS-remote monitoring.” This article explains why these descriptions may appear and how they relate to a Mobile Link subscription.

Issue or question

A Mobile Link subscription charge may appear on a billing statement using descriptions such as “GPS,” “GPS-remote monitoring,” or similar wording. Customers may not immediately recognize the charge as related to their Mobile Link account.

Cause

Mobile Link remote monitoring services may be processed through billing descriptors that reference GPS or remote monitoring terminology. These descriptions are associated with the Mobile Link subscription service and do not indicate a separate or unauthorized monitoring product. 

Note: Some cards may also add in the invoice from Mobile link as well once you click on the charge in your portal for them.

If a customer sees a “GPS” or “GPS-remote monitoring” charge and has an active Mobile Link subscription, the charge is typically associated with their Mobile Link service plan.

Note: Subscription charges will renew automatically until indicated otherwise. 

Customers can review their Mobile Link subscription details, renewal status, and payment information by signing in to their Mobile Link account.
