Read the manual thoroughly and understand all of the instructions, cautions, and warnings before using this equipment. If any section of the manual is not understood, contact your nearest authorized dealer, or contact Generac Customer Service at 1-888-436-3722 (1-888-GENERAC), or www.generac.com with any questions or concerns.

Generator exercise under load

A generator exercise is a short run-time with a configurable schedule. During an exercise, the unit self-starts and runs to perform internal tests and ensure proper generator function. An exercise should never be attempted while a generator is providing backup power to a home.

Exercise with transfer

Generators with a PowerZone 200 controller and compatible Mobile Link subscription plan can perform an exercise with transfer. Please reference these articles:

Simulating a power outage

For older model generators that do not support exercise with transfer, testing the generator can be done manually by Simulating a Power Outage.
