Whether purchased as a bundle or standalone, a Generac automatic transfer switch (ATS) comes with a separate 5-year limited extended warranty. Similar to Generac home standby generators, the ATS warranty covers:
Parts, Labor and Limited Travel for the first two years
Parts only for the third year
Major Parts Components (contactor and service disconnect breaker) for years four and five
This means that if the ATS is bought as part of a bundle, installed on the same day, and activated alongside a Generac home standby generator, it will have a "matching" warranty because the warranties are running concurrently: What Does My Home Standby Generator Warranty Cover?
It's important to note that this warranty alignment does include any separate extended warranties purchased or provided for the generator. To ensure that the ATS falls under the same warranty as the generator, it must be registered, installed, and purchased on the same day as the generator.
Manual transfer switches are not covered under the 5-year warranty and will come with a separate warranty.
