How do I force a reading on a fuel monitor?

Fuel monitors automatically send a status reading every 24 hours. However, there are times when a user may want to force a reading, such as:

• The monitor has lost connection and you want to verify status

• You need a more real-time update of your tank levels

For routine updates, no action is required. For real-time verification, follow the steps below.

Environment

This article applies only to Generac LTE fuel monitors.

How to force a reading

1. Locate the activation magnet attached to your fuel monitor.

2. Hold the magnet over the monitor’s activation pad for ~3 seconds.

3. Observe the LED lights on the monitor:

   • Three aqua lights should illuminate, indicating a successful reading is being sent

4. Remove the magnet and allow the monitor to complete the reading process.

• Fuel monitors are set up to send readings automatically every 24 hours. Forcing a reading is only needed for immediate status updates.
