Upgrade from Basic (free) to Premium in Mobile Link

Note: The Premium subscriptions are only available in the US and Canada. If in Canada these prices are in USD, so you may see a Canadian rate exchange difference.
Note: You can enroll the Fuel Monitor in the following countries: US, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama.

Environment

  • This article applies to Mobile Link users who are on the Basic (free) plan and are not on a dealer-managed plan.
  • This article does not apply to Fuel Monitor plans. There is no free Fuel Monitor plan to upgrade from.
  • If you have a dealer-managed generator or fuel monitor, you will not see the options as described below. Reach out to your dealer to manage your plan.
  • If your account address is outside of the US and Canada, you will not see the ability to upgrade.


Connectivity requirements

Before purchasing a subscription, homeowners should ensure that their generator has a reliable cellular or Wi-Fi connection. Refunds are not available for issues caused by poor connectivity. A Mobile Link device is required. For details, see the Mobile Link Wi-Fi, Cellular, and LTE device compatibility guide.

  • Cellular (formerly 4G LTE): Upgrading to the Connectivity Cellular Accessory is recommended for users who wish to add connectivity to their generator or users experiencing ongoing connectivity issues. It is compatible with more generators and uses multiple carrier networks to offer greater coverage. Basic (free) and Premium cellular plans are available for users of this device.   • Wi-Fi requirements: A dedicated 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network that supports 802.11b/g/n protocols is required for Mobile Link. 5 GHz or dual-band networks are not supported. Setting up a separate SSID for your 2.4 GHz network is strongly recommended to maintain a stable connection. For more information, see Is My Wi-Fi Network Compatible With Mobile Link?


To upgrade to a Premium subscription using the Mobile Link website:

1.Log into your Mobile Link account at https://app.mobilelinkgen.com/

2. Click your name in the upper right-hand corner. 

3. Click Account Settings in the drop-down menu.

4. Click the word Subscription on the left-hand side.

5. Click Upgrade to Premium.

Note: Click the Premium Monitoring dropdown arrow near the generator nickname to view the additional premium features.

6. Click Upgrade Now

7. Input or select payment information. Visa, MasterCard, or American Express are accepted.

8. Review the Subscription Terms (Automatic Renewal). Please read the full subscription statement.

9. Accept the automatic renewal agreement by checking the box "I understand and agree to the automatic renewal process described above".

10. Click Pay Now

Note: Unless you deselect Use current billing information the Mobile Link Account Holder address MUST match the payment method's billing address otherwise, the card will be declined. To upgrade to a Premium subscription using the Mobile Link app:

1. Open your Mobile Link for Generators application.

2. Log in to your Mobile Link account.

3. Click on the Account icon on the bottom menu in the application.

4. Click on the Plan Details option under the Subscription header. 

Note: Click the Products and feautures dropdown arrow near the generator nickname to view the additional premium features.

5. Click on the Upgrade to Premium button.

6. Confirm the available Premium subscription option by pressing Continue.

Note: Please note subscribing through the mobile application does cost more. For pricing information, see here. 

7. Select Premium yearly or Premium monthly and press Subscribe to Premium.

8. Review the Subscription Terms (Automatic Renewal). Please read the full subscription statement.

9. Accept the automatic renewal agreement by checking the box "I understand and agree to the automatic renewal process described above".

10. Click Continue.

11. Follow the steps for in-app payment processes based on your phone OS (iOS or Android).

Note: The in-app payment processes will differ between Apple/Android
