Warning alarms, what they mean, and how to dismiss them in Mobile Link

Warning events are events that may occur on a generator that require attention but will not prevent a generator from operating in response to an outage event.  After these events are addressed, if the warning is not addressed while at the unit, the event may be cleared remotely through the Mobile Link app or website. This article will explain the steps to remotely clear a warning event through the Mobile Link Website or App.

What if the warning keeps coming back?

This indicates that there is an issue with the generator that should be addressed. The generator will signal an issue with an LED light that corresponds with an error message on the controller display: What Do the Green, Yellow, and Red Status Indicator Lights Mean on Home Standby Generators?

Environment

This article applies to customers with Mobile Link for generators remote monitoring account. Currently only Evo 2, Sync 3.0, and PowerZone 200 controllers support dismissing warnings within the Mobile Link app. A device without one of these supported controller types won't display the "Dismiss Warning" button in Mobile Link.

What is the difference between dismissing and snoozing a warning?

Dismissing a warning will "clear" the alarm at the generators control panel removing the warning. Snoozing a warning will not remove the warning but will silence and stop push notifications for some specified amount of time.

  • Dismissing - remote clears and removes a warning alarm

  • Snoozing - silences notifications only
