Mobile Link devices
Most current Generac home standby generators now come with factory-installed Mobile Link connectivity devices. However, use cases exist where a homeowner may want to:
- Swap from a Wi-Fi device to a 4G LTE (cellular) device due to home network reliability issues
- Swap from 4G LTE to Wi-Fi due to poor LTE coverage in their region
- Swap to the Wi-Fi/Ethernet device in order to use a hardline internet connection
- Install a Mobile Link device on an older generator with a compatible controller
Generac offers these devices to address diverse use cases for generator connectivity. Compatibility varies depending on the generator's age and controller model. A generator's product manual can be referenced to assist in the identification of controller types or see the Which Generator Controllers Are Compatible with Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or 4G LTE? article for more information.
