Issue
The controller displays Wiring Error Code 2099.
Overview
- Error codes: 2099
- LED Indicator: Red
- Fault: Wiring Error
- Issue: This error code indicates miswiring. It indicates wires are crossed, for example, the N1 to 194, or 23 to T1, or if one of the AC (N1, N2, T1) wires is crossed with the DC wires (194, 23, 0). The error may indicate AC voltage detected on a DC input, but will not indicate exactly which wires are crossed.
Environment
This article applies to Generac air and liquid-cooled home standby generators and automatic transfer switches.
Troubleshooting
A certified installer should inspect the customer connections panel to ensure wires are not crossed. Generac support does NOT recommend end users attempt to modify or service internal generator or transfer switch wiring. Generac-certified dealers are trained to service Generac generators and can be contacted using the dealer lookup tool on Generac's site. See How Can I Find a Generac Service Dealer in My Area? for more information.

Integrated Smart A/C Module (SACM) wiring
Note: Next generation 100, 150, and 200 AMP transfer switches do not feature a SACM module. Instead, they have a Fuse Control Module (FCM): What is the Next Generation Automatic Transfer Switch?
