Schedule A Maintenance
Home standby generators require specific maintenance tasks to be completed at different intervals to ensure proper operation and longevity. Schedule A maintenance refers to a collection of tasks that should be performed every two years or every 200 hours of operation. Home Standby Generators are equipped with a yellow maintenance alert which will display on the control panel when the Schedule A Maintenance interval has been reached.
Environment
This article applies to Generac air-cooled Guardian Series 10-26 kW generators (2017 to present) during the Schedule A maintenance interval. The Schedule A interval occurs every two years or 200 hours of operation, whichever comes first.

Who can perform maintenance?
Homeowners can perform regular maintenance tasks as outlined in their generator's user manual. Alternatively, homeowners can contact a local certified service dealer. See Where Can I Find a Company to Perform Standard Maintenance On My Generator? for more information.
Regardless of who performs the maintenance, maintenance records must be kept for future reference. The Mobile Link for Generators app offers functionality to record and track maintenance tasks. See the Viewing, Adding, Deleting, & Exporting Maintenance Schedule Records in Mobile Link article for more information.
Next steps
After maintenance procedures have been completed, it is important to follow the post-maintenance check procedure to ensure the home standby unit is "ready to run": How do I perform post maintenance checks on a home standby generator?

Lastly, clear the Schedule A Maintenance code the same way you clear an error code:
1. Press the red OFF button
2. Press ENTER 2 times for each maintenance alarm present. There may be more than one maintenance alarm; press ENTER to acknowledge and clear each alarm for which maintenance has been completed.
3. Press the green AUTO button. This will return the unit to automatic standby mode.
