Mobile Link device serial number and MAC address locations
A MAC address (Media Access Control) is a unique hardware identifier assigned to network equipment. The MAC address and serial number of a Mobile Link device is useful when adding after market Mobile Link devices or managing devices on your home network. This information is also useful when troubleshooting with Generac customer support.
In addition to the physically printed label locations described below, you can also view and verify the Mobile Link device MAC address and serial number information by connecting your Generac generator via the Mobile Link app:
Once the device has been connected, it will automatically populate your device information into the account once you add your serial number.
Environment
All Mobile Link devices: This article is intended to help locate the serial number of the Mobile Link device installed on the generator. This article applies to the onboard Wi-Fi device, the 4G/LTE device, the Wi-Fi/Ethernet device, and the Connectivity Cellular Device. See this article for more information.
Connectivity Cellular Accessory
The serial number will be located on the back of the connectivity cellular accessory device on a white sticker under a QR code. This will consist of numbers and letters and will be 9 digits long.
Onboard Wi-Fi
This is the STA MAC address which will be located on a Wi-Fi sticker just above your generator serial number decal. The serial number decal is located to the left of the control panel on the black dividing wall.
4G/LTE Accessory*
The MAC address will be located at the bottom of the LTE device or on the sticker on the box it came in. The device serial number will be located towards the top right of the decal on the bottom of the unit. It will consist of letters and numbers and be 10 digits long.
Wi-Fi/Ethernet Accessory*
The MAC address will be located at the back of the Wi-Fi/ethernet device or on the sticker on the box it came in. The device serial number will be located towards the top right of the decal on the bottom of the unit. It will consist of letters and numbers and be 10 digits long, it will also display as S/N in front of it.
*Discontinued Notice: The 4G/LTE and Wi-Fi/Ethernet aftermarket accessories have been discontinued. Upgrading to the Connectivity Cellular Accessory is recommended for users who wish to add connectivity to their generator or users experiencing ongoing connectivity issues.
