Where can I get information about older (legacy) model generator?

Generally speaking, the older a generator model is, the harder it is to find documentation for it. This article is intended to provide guidance on where to find product documentation for older model generators. The first place to look for product documentation is on our product information page.

 

Generally speaking, legacy model Generac home standby generators include any generator manufactured prior to 2013. These generators can be identified by the Nexus or pre-Nexus controller styles shown below:

The most important thing to identify when looking for product information is the product's serial number. A model number is also helpful.

This article applies to older (legacy) model home standby and portable generators (2013 and older). To determine what year your generator was made, see here: How can I find out the year my generator was made?

I can't find information on my home standby or portable generator. What should I do?

If no information is found after entering the correct serial number for your generator on our product information page, here are some steps you can take:

1. Research your generator online. Enter the generator model number to try to find product documentation.

2. Contact a Generac authorized service dealer in your area for information about your generator.

3. Call us at 888-436-3722 so we can help.

 

I can't find information on my RV generator. What should I do?

If no information is found after entering the correct serial number for your RV generator on our product information page, here are some steps you can take:

1. Look on www.anyrvparts.com which is a great resource for RV generators.
