To connect your Generac EV charger to Wi-Fi, ensure your charger and app are updated to the latest software version and disable Fast Roaming in your router settings. Connect the charger to the app via Bluetooth and go to the Connectivity and WiFi sections to activate the Wi-Fi feature and choose a network to connect to. Connecting your EV Charger to your Wi-Fi network

Wi-Fi connectivity allows your charger to connect with the Cloud, enabling real-time communication between the app and your charger and remote control.

Before starting, ensure you have a working Wi-Fi connection available within the range of your charger and that there are no significant obstacles between it and the router.

You can use your smartphone as a Wi-Fi hotspot if there is no Internet connection near you.

How to connect your charger to the Wi-Fi

To ensure the steps below run smoothly, ensure your charger and the Generac EV Charging app are running on the latest available software version: How to update your charger’s software with the Generac EV Charging app?

Fast Roaming must be disabled in your router settings as this feature is incompatible with Generac EV chargers.

The charger must be connected to your app via Bluetooth to configure a Wi-Fi connection. Follow these instructions to connect your app and charger via Bluetooth:

1. Log in to the Generac EV Charging app.
2. Select your charger from the list.
3. Wait until the Bluetooth connection between your charger and the app is established.
4. Tap the Settings gear icon.
5. Go to CONNECTIVITY.
6. Tap WIFI.
7. Activate the Wi-Fi feature to display the list of available networks.
8. Tap your Wi-Fi name to connect to it. Enter the Wi-F password if requested.
9. Once connected, a network icon will appear next to your charger’s name.

Once connected, if you want information about the network, click the “i” icon.
