Upgrade from a Mobile Link Wi-Fi device to a Cellular device

Owners of compatible home standby generators can upgrade their existing Mobile Link Wi-Fi device to a cellular device. This is typically done to address home network reliability issues. If the generator currently has a Mobile Link Wi-Fi device installed, it can be upgraded to the Generac Connectivity Cellular Accessory part # G0072150.

Environment

This article applies to owners of compatible home standby generators with an existing Wi-Fi Mobile Link connectivity device who would like to upgrade to a cellular device.

Installation - Wi-Fi to Cellular

Installation - Cellular to Wi-Fi (reverse)

1. Uninstall the current cellular device.
2. Install the desired Mobile Link Wi-Fi device using the instructions from the installation manual.

Note: The Cellular Connectivity Accessory supports Wi-Fi as a fallback option. If a cellular signal is available, it will default to the cellular connection. See this article for more information: How do I set up Wi-Fi for my Connectivity Cellular Accessory?

Updating your Mobile Link account for the new device

Following installation, to update the Mobile Link device in your Mobile Link account, contact Mobile Link Support (855-436-8439) with the LTE device serial number and generator serial number. Mobile Link Support will swap the device in your Mobile Link account.
