Preferred dealer selection

Associating a preferred service dealer in Mobile Link ensures that the contact information for that dealer is within easy access whenever needed.  This also provides the Mobile Link system with a clear indication of which dealer you prefer to work with and any relevant communications will ensure this relationship is considered.  A preferred dealer can be defined using both the Mobile Link website and the Mobile Link App.
 

Environment

This article applies to registered Mobile Link users without a dealer-managed plan. If your account is dealer-managed, then you cannot change the preferred dealer information. For more information about dealer-managed plans, see the How do I upgrade to a Dealer-Managed plan in Mobile Link? article.

To Select a Preferred dealer using the Mobile Link website (app.mobilelinkgen.com)

 
1. Open a web browser, navigate to and log in to the Mobile Link website at https://app.mobilelinkgen.com

2. Click the tile with the picture of the generator.

3. Click the Preferred Dealer menu option

4. Click LOCATE A DEALER to search for a dealer by zip code. Alternatively, click ADD MY INSTALLER to search by name. 
 
Note: The Locate A Dealer or Add My Installer will only appear when a generator is not enrolled in a dealer-managed subscription type.  When enrolled in a Dealer Managed subscription type, the preferred dealer will automatically be set to the managing dealer.

5. Enter a Zip Code to search nearby. The scroll bar can also be used to adjust the desired search distance parameters, and then click  search button.png.

6. A list of dealers that fall within the defined parameters is displayed. Review the list of dealers, then select a desired dealer.

7. Click SET AS PREFERRED DEALER to choose this dealer as the preferred dealer for this generator.
 
 

To Select a Preferred dealer using the Mobile Link app


1. Open and log in to the Mobile Link app and go to the Dashboard image.pngmenu.

2. Touch the generator tile.

3. Scroll down the Settings page and tap the Preferred Dealer option.

Note: If instead you see Your Dealer and no option to edit the information, then you are on a dealer-managed plan and this information cannot be changed. 
 

If you already have a preferred dealer in mind: 


1. Tap + Add my dealer.

2. Choose to search by the dealer name or location. 
  • If searching by dealer name: Enter the name of the dealer and then tap Search.
  • If searching by location: Set a location radius and country, then enter your zip code and tap Search.

3. Once the dealer info is displayed, choose Set as preferred dealer.

If you need to find a nearby dealer: 


1. Tap Find a dealer near me.

2. Choose to search by the dealer name or location. 
 
  • If searching by dealer name: Enter the name of the dealer and then tap Search.
  • If searching by location: Set a location radius and country, then enter your zip code and tap Search.

3. Once the dealer info is displayed, choose Set as preferred dealer.
