Generac home standby generators come with a limited 5-year warranty. This warranty is active upon generator registration and covers hardware and costs associated with generator repair. Any service work performed by someone not authorized by Generac to perform warranty work cannot be claimed and will not be covered under warranty. This includes any repair work performed by an electrical contractor that is not affiliated with a service dealership. Regular maintenance, such as changing the oil and oil filter, can be done by anyone and is not covered under the warranty.
