Why doesn’t every Generac home standby generator come with a required transfer switch?

Generac home standby generators do not always include a transfer switch because each home requires a different switch type and size based on factors like electrical service, how much of the home needs backup power, local code requirements, and load‑management needs. Selling generators and transfer switches separately ensures customers get the correct, properly sized components. Some Generac models are available as bundles that include a 200A automatic transfer switch, such as the 14 kW (model 7323) and 18 kW (model 7324) packages. For the best results, Generac recommends working with a certified installer and scheduling a free in‑home assessment to determine the right transfer switch and generator setup.
