Draining the Fuel for Storage

To preserve the fuel's properties, it is recommended to add a fuel stabilizer from the outset. This will neutralize any damaging effects that ethanol may have on the components responsible for combustion. However, it is important to carefully follow the fuel stabilizer's instructions regarding the ratio to be used and its effective duration.

If the generator is expected to be stored for more than 30 days, it is best to drain the fuel from the tank and run the carburetor dry. This is because fuel begins to deteriorate after about a month, which can lead to engine problems.
