Using a Water Column (Manometer) to Determine the Appropriate Fuel Pressure

An analog or digital manometer can be used to determine if the fuel pressure falls into the appropriate range.

  • Liquid Propane - 10 to 12 inches of Water Column (.36-.43 PSI)
  • Natural Gas - 3.5 to 7 inches of Water Column (.13-.25 PSI)
Note: Fuel pressure requirements are not determined by the generator's regulator or fuel inlet. View your generator's user manual to verify fuel pressure: How Do I Find a Copy of My Home Standby Generator Owner's Manual and Spec Sheets?
