How long does the SACM or load manager lock out loads?

Environment

This article applies to automatic transfer switches that feature a SACM board. Note that newer models may not feature a SACM or load manager, and will instead have an integrated surge protector.

SACM and Load Manager lockout time periods

Loads that are managed using a Generac Load Manager or an Integrated Smart Air Conditioning Module (SACM), that cause an overload within 15 seconds of being enabled will be locked out for a total of 30 minutes before attempting to be re-enabled. There is no number of occurrences that will cause a permanent lockout. The lock-out will be reset when the utility power returns or if the generator is shut down.

We do not recommend modifying the Generac Load Manager as a troubleshooting measure, contact a dealer if you are experiencing issues initiating power to AC units.
