Why does Mobile Link say Wi-Fi is not configured for my cellular connectivity accessory?

If you see “Wi-Fi not configured for your cellular connectivity accessory” (or similar wording) in the Mobile Link app, it means the optional Wi-Fi backup feature on the Connectivity Cellular Accessory has not been set up. This message is about the accessory’s backup connection option, not generator operation. If the accessory has a cellular connection, you can continue using Mobile Link without configuring Wi-Fi backup.

What this message means

The Connectivity Cellular Accessory supports optional Wi-Fi backup. Mobile Link shows this message when Wi-Fi backup has not been configured.

• Cellular can still work: If the accessory has a cellular connection, Mobile Link connectivity can continue without Wi-Fi backup configured.
• Wi-Fi backup is optional: Wi-Fi is only used as a fallback if cellular service becomes unavailable.
• This is a connectivity message: It does not indicate a problem with generator operation.

Note: Wi-Fi backup is not required. Configuring it can help maintain a strong, resilient connection if cellular service becomes unavailable.
