What is the Guardian by Generac?

Guardian by Generac is a Costco-exclusive line of air-cooled home standby generators. These generators use the Next Generation platform and have a similar appearance, but Guardian by Generac is a separate product offering.

Available models

Guardian by Generac is available in the following sizes:

• 22 kW, model G0072680 (U.S.)
• 25 kW, model G0072690 (Canada)

Both models are sold as bundles only and include their respective 200A automatic transfer switches.

How is Guardian by Generac different?

The following differences apply to Guardian by Generac:

• Generac extended warranty options do not apply to Guardian by Generac.
• Smart Exercise is not included.
• ecobee integration is not supported.
• The 25 kW model is specific to the Guardian by Generac offering and is not available in Generac's standard product lineup.
• Sold exclusively by Costco.

Note: Guardian by Generac should not be confused with the prior-generation Guardian Series. The names are similar, but they refer to different generator platforms.

How do I identify my generator?

Check the product name, model number, and serial number on the generator data label and purchase documentation.

The following models belong to the Costco-exclusive Guardian by Generac product line:

• 22 kW, model G0072680 (U.S.)
• 25 kW, model G0072690 (Canada)

When searching by model or serial number, the product description may include GUARDBG, which identifies the generator as Guardian by Generac.
