What is the ecobee by Generac app?

The ecobee by Generac app brings compatible Generac home standby generators, ecobee devices, and PWRcell products together in one connected home energy experience. For eligible home standby generator owners, the ecobee by Generac app provides access to generator monitoring information while Mobile Link continues to provide generator setup, configuration, and other management features.

Generac is gradually bringing compatible products together in a more unified experience. Some generator features remain available only through Mobile Link.

What can I see about my home standby generator?

Depending on your generator and account, the ecobee by Generac app may display:

  • Generator status, such as Running, Exercising, Auto/Ready, Off, or Stopped
  • Online or offline status
  • Maintenance indicators
  • Generator and dealer information
  • Access to support resources

Does the ecobee by Generac app replace Mobile Link?

No. Home standby generator owners should use both apps because some generator features remain available only through Mobile Link.

What do I still use Mobile Link for?

Continue using Mobile Link to:

  • Enroll a generator
  • Manage connectivity and Wi-Fi settings
  • Configure notifications
  • Manage Mobile Link subscriptions
  • Change supported generator settings
  • Access other generator management features that are not available in ecobee by Generac

How does my generator appear in the app?

For eligible customers, the generator is expected to appear automatically when it is enrolled in Mobile Link and you sign in to ecobee by Generac with the account associated with that enrollment.

A separate generator enrollment process in the ecobee by Generac app is not required.
