Contacting an authorized service dealer

Generac's Independent Authorized Service Dealer network allows customers to contact local technicians who have been trained and certified to perform work and initiate warranty claims for Generac's products. For more information, see the What Is a Generac Independent Authorized Service Dealer (IASD)? article.

The dealer locator on our website will assist in pinpointing the nearest dealer location. This tool will locate sales & service dealers for the following:

  • Home Standby Generators
  • Portable Generators
  • Industrial Generators
  • Mobile Power
  • Power Washers & Water Pumps
  • Solar Battery Storage
  • EV Chargers

Note: For non-urgent service requests, click this link to use a web form to request a service call from a certified technician.

Using the dealer lookup tool

1. Click this link to navigate to the dealer lookup page.
2. Enter a postal code or City and State information or, click Use My Location.
3. From the dropdown list, select a dealer category and distance.
4. Depending on your need, Select Sales & Installation or Maintenance & Service.

IMPORTANT: Make sure you select the appropriate category for your product to ensure you get the most accurate results. These categories are segmented based on the types of service a dealer can provide. For example, someone with a portable generator may be limiting their results and filtering out potential options by choosing the Residential Generators Sales & Service option.

4. Click Search.
5. Select a dealer from the list.

Note: If no dealers appear, consider increasing the Within (Miles) value.

What are the different dealer designations?

These designations indicate the level of service a dealer can provide, the products they sell and support, and if they can perform services that will be covered under warranty. For more information, see the What are the different dealer designations for Generac service dealers? article.

What if there are no nearby service dealers?

Some remote installations may be located far from the nearest service dealer.

  • Make sure you selected the appropriate option for your product. See the IMPORTANT note in the above "Using the dealer lookup tool" section.
  • Generator owners can try selecting the Industrial/Commercial Sales option to see if any Industrial service dealers are nearby and have the capacity to service a home standby unit.
  • Contact the nearest dealer to see if they are willing to travel to service the unit.

Can I perform my own generator maintenance?

Generator owners can perform scheduled maintenance if they feel comfortable doing so. This resource contains many articles that cover maintenance tasks and troubleshooting for generator error codes. Generator failures determined to be caused by improper or lack of maintenance may compromise the warranty. See these articles for more information:

Where can I find parts?

Generac sells parts through Generac.ordertree.com. See Where can I source parts for my home standby generator? for more information.
