Environment

Connectivity devices: This article applies to the discontinued 4G LTE aftermarket accessory and the Connectivity Cellular Accessory. If you are unsure which device you have, see the Mobile Link Wi-Fi, Cellular, and LTE device compatibility guide.

Apps: This article applies to both the Mobile Link app and the ecobee by Generac app. The troubleshooting steps are the same regardless of which app displays the status. For Mobile Link users, the status may also appear in Mobile Link Web.

Issue or question

The app reports that the generator has no LTE signal. This status indicates that the generator's connectivity device is not maintaining a cellular connection. Use the troubleshooting steps below whether the status appears in Mobile Link or ecobee by Generac.

Troubleshooting

1. Identify which connectivity device is installed on the generator. If you are unsure, see the Mobile Link Wi-Fi, Cellular, and LTE device compatibility guide.

2. Verify connectivity device connection and orientation:
  • If the generator uses the discontinued 4G LTE accessory, verify that the external antenna is upright and securely connected. 
  • If the generator uses the Connectivity Cellular Accessory. verify that it is securely connected to the axial cable and that the LED is solid blue.
3. Determine which lights are illuminated or blinking on the connectivity device. See Troubleshooting poor signals and LED lights for connectivity device to determine whether the LED status indicates an issue that should be addressed.
4. Follow the recommended actions for the LED status shown. If the LED troubleshooting guidance recommends resetting or power cycling the connectivity device, complete those steps before checking the app status again.
5. Check for a local cellular network outage. If cellular service is unavailable in the area, the carrier must restore service before the connectivity device can reconnect.
6. If the status remains after completing these steps and there is no known cellular outage, contact Mobile Link Customer Support for additional assistance.
