Mobile Link account setup & device enrollment

Home standby generator owners can monitor their generators using the Mobile Link mobile app for iOS or Android. Most generator models can also be monitored using the Mobile Link web app at app.mobilelinkgen.com. Next Generation Series generators (2025–present) currently support monitoring through the Mobile Link mobile app only.

Mobile Link details

• A Mobile Link account is not required for the generator to operate.
• Homeowners should confirm a reliable Wi-Fi or cellular connection at the generator before subscribing to a Mobile Link plan.
  • For Wi-Fi, use a dedicated 2.4 GHz network. Ensure the router supports 802.11 b/g/n protocols.
• A Mobile Link account can be created using a web browser or mobile device. Account creation often takes place during generator installation. Devices can be added during or after account setup.

• Subscriptions and payments can be managed through the Mobile Link website or the mobile app.

Next Generation Series generator owners can use the website to create an account and complete applicable account-management tasks. Generator monitoring for these models is currently available only in the Mobile Link mobile app.

Before enrolling a communication device, verify which device is installed and confirm that the generator is compatible with the accessory. See: Which generator controllers are compatible with Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or 4G LTE?

Select a subscription plan

Dealer-managed

Note: If working with a Generac service dealer, contact the dealer before subscribing to a paid plan. You may be eligible for a dealer-managed plan, and refunds are not offered after purchasing a subscription.

Select a plan on app.mobilelinkgen.com:

The Mobile Link website can be used to select or manage a subscription. Using the website for these tasks does not enable web monitoring for Next Generation Series generators. Monitor these generators using the Mobile Link mobile app.

1. Click Subscribe after adding your device.
2. Select a subscription plan and click Continue.
3. For paid subscriptions, enter billing details and accept the terms.
4. Click Pay Now to complete the transaction.
5. A confirmation screen will display. Click Return to Dashboard to finish.

Note: If the generator uses propane, you may be prompted to add a tank monitor. This can be done later if preferred.

Select a plan in the Mobile Link app:

1. Tap the desired Subscription option.
2. Choose Subscribe to Premium or Continue with Basic.
3. Review and accept the subscription terms.
4. Check the I understand box and tap Continue.
5. Follow the device payment prompts for iOS or Android.
6. When complete, the "ALL SYSTEMS GO!" screen appears. Tap the screen to return to the dashboard.

How do I change the Mobile Link device in my Mobile Link account?

If you installed a replacement Mobile Link device and need it updated, contact the appropriate team based on how the plan was set up:

• Dealer-managed plans purchased through a dealer: Contact your preferred Generac dealer or Mobile Link Support at 855-436-8439.
• Plans purchased directly through the Mobile Link app or website: Contact Mobile Link Support at 855-436-8439.

Be prepared to provide the new Mobile Link device serial number and the generator serial number. The dealer or Mobile Link Support will update the device in the account.
