Sign up for a Mobile Link account using the web app (app.mobilelinkgen.com)

Home standby generator owners can create and manage their Mobile Link account using the web app (app.mobilelinkgen.com) or the mobile app.

Mobile Link details

• After signing up, both the web app and the mobile app can be used to access your user account. You do not need to sign up separately for the mobile app and website.
• A Mobile Link account is not required for the generator to operate.
• Homeowners should always verify they have a reliable Wi-Fi or 4G LTE connection at the generator before subscribing to a Mobile Link plan.
  • For Wi-Fi, ensure you have a dedicated 2.4 GHz network and a router that supports 802.11 b/g/n wireless protocols.

Note: If working with a Generac service dealer, there is potential to enroll in a dealer-managed plan. Contact your desired service dealer with subscription questions (please do so before signing up for paid services as refunds are not offered). Environment

This article applies to end users who want to create a Mobile Link account using a web browser. Owners of Next Generation Series generators (2025–present) can use the web app to create and manage their Mobile Link account, but must use the Mobile Link mobile app to monitor generator status. Web browser status monitoring is not currently supported for these generators.

Sign up for a Mobile Link account using a web browser

1. Using your preferred web browser, go to https://app.mobilelinkgen.com/.
2. Enter your email address in the Sign In Or Sign Up field, then click NEXT.

   Note: The email address entered here becomes the User ID for the Mobile Link account.

3. Click SEND VERIFICATION CODE. A verification code is sent to the email address provided.

   Note: This step confirms that you own the email address and helps protect your account.

4. Open your email and locate the message from  no-reply@noreply.mobilelinkgen.com. It contains a six-digit code.
5. Return to the Mobile Link page and enter the six-digit code in the Verification code field.
6. When prompted with Email address verified — please choose a password, create and confirm your password.

   Note: Passwords must be a minimum of 12 characters and may include letters, numbers, and special characters.

7. Review and agree to the End-User License Agreement, Terms and Conditions, and Privacy Statement. Check I agree…, then click NEXT.
8. On the Owner Information screen, enter your First name, Last name, Phone number, and Address. If applicable, enter a Business name (optional).
9. When finished, click the blue Next button (with the arrow) at the bottom of the window.

Having issues verifying your email?

If you are verifying via the Mobile Link mobile app, avoid fully closing the app while retrieving the code. Only minimize it so you can return after opening your email. For steps to set up via the app, you can reference article for help. If you are unable to locate the verification code, you may find this article helpful. 

Potential solutions

• If possible, use a second device, one for the Mobile Link app and another to open your email and retrieve the code.

What if I entered the wrong serial number?

You will need to submit a ticket to have this corrected. See Generac Customer Support contact information.

Before calling, verify, check, and include:

1. If the generator is connected to Wi-Fi, Generac Support will need the SSID on the control panel and router name to verify they are connected to that MAC address.
2. Generac Support will need to verify that the wrong serial number is not also registered to you. If the wrong serial number is also registered to your account, as well as the correct serial number, Generac Support will need a data tag picture (this will also need to be included in the ticket).
