Guide to activating Basic Mobile Link monitoring
Basic Mobile Link monitoring is available on home standby generators with all Mobile Link Monitoring devices (Wi-Fi and cellular devices with the exception of Generac Fuel Monitors). Activating basic monitoring is as easy as creating an account and connecting your generator to your home Wi-fi or local cellular network. While premium subscriptions are available and offer additional features, creating a Mobile Link account and monitoring your generator is a basic service provided by Generac.
Environment
This article applies to home standby generators with a connected Mobile Link Device (onboard Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi ethernet, 4G LTE, Connectivity Cellular Accessory*). See the Mobile Link Wi-Fi, Cellular, and LTE device compatibility guide for more information.
*The Connectivity Cellular Accessory is recommended for users who wish to add connectivity to their generator or users experiencing ongoing connectivity issues. It is compatible with more generators and uses multiple carrier networks to offer greater coverage. Basic (free) and Premium cellular plans are available for users of this device. 1. To get started, you can create a Mobile Link Account; for more information, please see How Do I Set up a Mobile Link Account?
2. Link Home Standby generator to account - Serial Number and device ID, please see How do I add a new generator to my Mobile Link account?
3. After linking your Mobile Link account with your generator, you will be prompted to select a subscription.
4. Select Basic account.
