Moving to a new home

Existing Mobile Link account holders can cancel their subscription and remove a generator from their account. If the new homeowner wishes to continue using Mobile Link, they can sign up for a new Mobile Link account and register the generator.

Environment

These instructions apply to Mobile Link account subscribers who are not dealer-managed. If you are dealer-managed, then reach out to your dealer for changes to Mobile Link account details. 

If you are moving to a new home and want to cancel your Mobile Link account:

If you are moving to a home that has a Generac home standby generator and want to use Mobile Link: 

1. Make sure the prior owner cancels the subscription and removes the generator from their account. See the How Do I Remove a Generator From My Mobile Link account? article for detailed steps.
2. The new homeowner will then need to create their own Mobile Link account and register the generator. See How Do I Set up a Mobile Link Account? for more information.


If you are moving and will be taking the generator with you: 

Please note that moving the generator will compromise the warranty, regardless if the generator is dealer managed.
