Mobile Link Wi-Fi setup

Mobile Link is an application that allows homeowners to remotely monitor and configure settings on their home standby generator. The Mobile Link application can be accessed using the Mobile Link for Generators app available for Android and iOS, or by connecting directly to the generator's MLG network using a web browser.

 

Environment

• Mobile Link onboard Wi-Fi device and Wi-Fi/Ethernet device: This article applies to the onboard Wi-Fi (factory installed on air-cooled units) and aftermarket Wi-Fi/Ethernet devices. See the Mobile Link Wi-Fi, Cellular, and LTE device compatibility guide to verify your device.

  • Note: Wi-Fi is an optional fallback for the Cellular Accessory. If a cellular signal is present, the device will default to a cellular connection.

Mobile Link details:

• The Mobile Link app and Wi-Fi connection is not required to run the generator in Auto mode (only warranty activation is required - How Do I Activate My Home Standby Generator? ).
• The connection procedure can be performed without creating an account or paying for a subscription.
• Generac support recommends homeowners first connect the generator and confirm a reliable signal before paying for an account subscription.
