- Cause: The low oil pressure alarm is typically caused by low oil levels due to oil consumption, leaks, or lack of maintenance.
What can I do?
- Your options are limited beyond performing basic checks on components and verifying that everything appears normal. You can attempt to clear the alarm and manually restart the unit.
- Sometimes, clearing the alarm and attempting to restart the unit is all that is needed, as the alarm may be a one-time occurrence that does not indicate a persistent issue.

General troubleshooting
1 Allow the generator to cool

Before proceeding, ensure the generator has cooled for at least 30 minutes to avoid potential injury or inaccurate readings.
2. Check and refill oil

Confirm that oil dipstick is fully inserted, and that the oil fill cap, oil drain cap, and oil filter are hand-tightened. Rotate clockwise to tighten. (righty-tight, left-loose). If any of these components are not tightened securely, leaks can occur.
3. Check for oil leaks
Inspect the generator for any visible oil leaks and address them as necessary.
